I've experienced it first hand with each my 2nd grade classes and since then, have encouraged my two other school librarians to reach out to her because of her "awesomeness"! I miss her and her way cool library.Amy McElhaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13546504377141965561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7144565.post-52576680165573827592010-07-26T10:51:44.307-07:002010-07-26T10:51:44.307-07:00The lunch club along with EVERYTHING else Guusje d...The lunch club along with EVERYTHING else Guusje does in her library is amazing. There are three classes per grade. They come with their lunches twice a week until we finish the book, then a new group comes. Some years I read to 3 grades and my assistant two and vice versa.

We do not group by ability. Anyone can come, but no one has to come. We call it "Literary Lunch." It is a big hit!Dianehttp://libraryloudly.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7144565.post-47985575408468558762010-07-24T23:49:37.496-07:002010-07-24T23:49:37.496-07:00I just ran into your blog, because I read Doug'...I just ran into your blog, because I read Doug's blog. Maybe work with teachers to set a number of books to read each month? Have kids write a (fun!) blog post about the book? Or review it on a VoiceThread? I like the "raising the bar" idea, too.

Definitely stuff to think about!jeri hurdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16348016275683691159noreply@blogger.com
