Home Again, Home Again,Jiggity, Jig

The hospital threatened to keep My Beloved overnight but we dug in our heels and convinced them otherwise. We both knew from experience that I'd be doing most of the nursing care and we'd both rather be in the comfort of our own home.

So, here we are with pain meds, a DVD of The Thomas Crown Affair (Rene Russo is hot!), 6 sleeping kitties and a very high tech method to reduce swelling given to us by the hospital.

And just what is this high tech item? Why, a ziploc baggie of frozen peas! I wonder what the hospital markup is on those?

Best wishes for her speedy recovery -- hope it's not too serious.

I keep a specially-marked bag of peas in the freezer for just such purposes.

Yup, the infamous "secret cure" for swelling - the ubiquitous bag of frozen peas. We forgot to put them in a ziploc bag one time. Peas everywhere!!!! I was not amused, but the kitties enjoyed chasing them around the room. :)

Awwww! We used to have a cat who could keep himself amused for hours -- hours! -- with a single raw green bean on the kitchen floor.

Best wishes for a quick recovery. I haven't tried the bag of peas trick before, but I'll keep it in mind for future needs.

Yuck hosptials - hate them. Glad you were able to take Beloved out of there and care for her at home. Hope the recovery goes well!

"There's no place like home." I have had too many hospital stays to know how I long for the comfort of home, even while in pain. May your beloved recuperate in the warmth of her own bed, in the quiet of far less people traisping in and out to check on her every hr. for some such thing that could be grouped together so she could sleep or rest. (Hospitals are no place to sleep unless you're a VERY heavy sleeper.)

Best wishes again to her for a speedy recovery and I'd love it if you were able to drop by my place for a min. It's my 1 yr. Blogaversary today!
